It seems that the message “what you think about is what you create” is everywhere these days. It sounds great in theory, but for a lot of people it is difficult to translate or put into action. For some it just becomes a harsh reminder of what they are not creating in their lives. When a persons focus is on survival or getting through one drama after another, this message just doesn’t make sense, and if anything, creates a burden of guilt for not creating a positive life.

Who strives to be a master and to have mastery in all they do? There are many examples of mastery, but I am thinking in particular of some of golf’s US Masters winners as I write this. Who would deny that Tiger Woods is a master in golf, his chosen profession? He seems to continuously overcome every possible challenge and he has an aura of confidence in all he does. Who cannot watch his game and enjoy the skill and proficiency that he displays to the world?

If you decided to be amazed, what would you see? Amazement, like any other state of mind, results primarily from our perspective — a cleaned up perspective that is, one that’s not clogged with negativity, self – doubt and limited thinking. What is amazement? It’s the capacity to see the positive, the beautiful and the previously unseen in both the everyday and in the spectacular. Amazement requires stepping outside of ourselves, observing who and what surrounds us, and practicing the art of gratitude.

Life doesn’t always go to plan. Sometimes things don’t work out as we want. Sometimes people let us down. Sometimes our hopes, dreams and expectations crash to the ground with a thud. Over the years I’ve felt disappointed more times than I care to count. An opportunity that looked promising fell through. A person I thought highly of acted poorly. A job I wanted went to someone else. Just last weekend, I felt a stab of vicarious disappointment as my oldest son Lachlan missed out on making the select basketball team. He’d had his heart set on it and when my husband told him...

Lying on the bed, Buckminster Fuller looked at the ceiling. Roaches and filth surrounded him. His purpose for living was gone. His passion for discovery was also gone. Ending his life seemed the only answer. The year was 1927. Alcohol was the easiest drug to abuse. And he did. At age 32 he should have had much going for him. He had attended Harvard University just a few years earlier. Twice. Most folks never go to Harvard once in their lives but he attended twice AND he got kicked out… twice.

In all the world, there is only one You, unique in every way. “Unique” is one of those words that frequently loses its impact because it is tossed about in common conversation without much thought to its literal meaning. We routinely dismiss this element of speech as overstatement or hyperbole. Recognizing the reality that each of us is truly unique requires effort. For a moment consider this…

Rocky’s Life Lessons
I love the Rocky series. I had recently watched Rocky 1 to 6 and the movie is inspiring. This video was taken from Rocky 6 when Rocky is talking to his son about life. I am going to share with you some inspiring quotes taken from the video which teaches us something about life.
The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbow. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are … It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how...

Thanksgiving is a holiday name that says exactly what it stands for – giving thanks. Sounds easy enough. We can be thankful for our health, our relationships, our jobs. We run down the list of things in our lives that are working and gratefully acknowledge our good fortunes. But, can we also be grateful for our misfortunes? Can we give thanks for the difficult people in our lives, for the loss of a job or a friend? Can we see the value in the hard times and the blessing in the pain? These are not so easy to appreciate. We’d just as soon eliminate the tough times instead of being grateful....

I believe every one of us has those moments where we beat ourselves up when things doesn’t seems to go the way that we want them to. We may say words that make us feel bad and this happens whenever we make any mistakes.
When this cycle continues, it causes us to have a lower self esteem and it also will slowly change our beliefs that we are prone to mistakes and we just can’t get anything done properly. When it gets to this stage, we start to doubt our ability and every problem that we try to tackle just to seem much harder.
My Story
I believe everyone...

ome of us have arrived at a time in our lives where we have become desperate with the feeling that there must be more. We struggle day in and day out, feeling empty and alone, which leads us to making attempt after attempt to fill that emptiness through relationships, money, and material things. This puts a mask on the despair for a brief time. But it always comes back, returning us to the desperate, lonely, depleted state of being that we are all too familiar with. It is then that many of us choose to begin a journey to search our soul for answers.
