Unless you’ve been living in a cave without internet, it’s safe to say you’ve come across a blog or two that has tremendously affected your life. Two blogs that have had a significant effect on me, are Zen Habits and Steve Pavlina. Both blogs have helped me gain an amazing amount of clarity on not only my passions but purpose in life as well.
I’ve found that regularly reading blogs is a powerful way to learn and grow. But the benefits of blogs extend even further....

No matter what your religious or spiritual beliefs, the irony of a divine birth in the middle of the winter of earthly death inspires faith. Harvest complete, farming dormant, our earthly cycle of seed-to-life lays at rest in the winter months. Instead, the birth of a heavenly idea springs forth each year in the midst of a barren blanket of cold and dark, and our faith in the world renews itself. Death of earthly life – whether animal or vegetable or human – merely represents greater spiritual cycles. The symbols of true power lie not in the longest lifespan or fertile soils, but in...

Expectation is a remarkable word because it is self-perpetuating. What I mean by this is that what we expect follows through in reality. This is true for us and also for others. When we expect greatness for others it becomes a blessing to them and also a truth for them. When we expect greatness for ourselves, anything is possible. Whether we expect grand thoughts and desires for us, or lowly things for us, these expectations draw upon particles from the Universe and enter our reality. These particles mold themselves around our thoughts and duplicate them in our reality. Think on the power of this!...

Personally, I am tired of seeing Westerners adopting an Eastern stance for Personal Growth and Connecting with Spirit. This comes across to me as an unnecessary rejection of Western Practices and their ability to bring us to Source. I’ve been a Psychologist for almost 30 years now and my days as a therapist led me through many avenues that allowed Spiritual connection and heart felt sustenance to come through.

“Drink from the chalice!” her voice boomed as she pushed the vessel toward me. There I sat staring at a beautifully ornate gold goblet that had what appeared to be steam running over the sides. I took the chalice into my hands, my heart was pounding in my chest, and I could feel the eyes in the room on me as I raised the goblet to my lips. I could not stop the thoughts rushing through my head about how fortunate I was to have the opportunity to drink from the same goblet and the same potion that gave people like Nefertiti and Cleopatra and many others their great self-confidence. I...

There’s an aspect of Taoist philosophy called Wu Wei, which is about “doing by not doing.” And, strangely enough, it’s the secret to getting things done! This philosophy says that, when nothing is done, nothing is left undone. When I first encountered this stark contradiction I became seriously worried about my brain cells short- circuiting and melting. In fact, the more I thought about it, the more convinced I became that I was starting to smell smoke coming out of my ears.

Manifesting an amazing life that is rich with loving abundant experiences comes only through being connected to the God Source. When you are relaxed, centered in your bodymind and detached from having to manifest your desires so that you can become momentarily “happy”, you can easily connect to this infinite loving power within. Being connected to the God Source is what allows everyone to know they are on the right path, and desires can manifest or not, and they are still happy.

This week I’ve been re-reading Jack Canfield’s wonderful book, <The Success Principles, and I was struck by his focus on the questions we ask. Several of his principles center on asking more and better questions of ourselves and others. In my thirty years of coaching, I’ve noticed that even highly successful people tend to ask very few questions, and not very good ones at that.

You have a purpose. You really do. As author Christine Qunintasket put it, “Everything on the earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a mission.” Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t know their REAL purpose. And those people – who are devoid of purpose – have a lot of problems or cause a lot of problems.
