Personal Development Itself Is Not Enough

I first started writing about personal development because I am interested in the subject and I believe it is the foundation to many other things in life. Personal development is required if you want to have healthy relationships, financial abundance, great health and any other things that will make you feel fulfilled and happy about your life. However, knowledge on personal development itself is not enough to help you to achieve significant results because you do not have specialized knowledge to go with it.

I’m not telling you to forsake your personal development journey. In fact, personal development is a life long journey. It is a subject that you need to learn consistently. If you want to have financial abundance or be healthier, learning and reading more about personal development is not enough to take you there.

Studying personal development is like learning to walk. It is the foundation that you need to know in order to learn how to run or climb the stairs. If you want to have financial abundance, knowledge about personal development is going to provide you the foundation (attitude and mindset) to succeed. In order to succeed, you need specialized knowledge about creating businesses, selling, marketing etc. If you want to be healthy, you need to have the specialized knowledge of the foods you can eat and the right exercises to do.

Sharing Specialized Knowledge At HMS

When I first picked up Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, I found the content so intriguing that I completed the book quickly (read this post which I teach you how to speed read). But I found myself feeling lost after I had completed the book. The book shifted my attitude and mindset about personal finance (personal development aka foundation knowledge) but it does not teach me the specifics or methods that I can apply (specialized knowledge) to become financially free.

I do not want HMS to be just a blog that is filled with foundation articles that cause you to feel lost and not know what to do next. I want content that is able to teach and inspire you into taking specific actions so that you can achieve results. This is why I want to share my entrepreneur journey with you. I am not an expert yet nor am I making millions. In fact, I am still in the stage of learning and I am taking actions to help me build profitable businesses online. I hope by being transparent on HMS and sharing what I am doing can help you to start your own profitable online businesses too.

A Peek Into What I Am Doing

I aim to have an ebook (paid version) and have at least 6 niche sites out by the end of the year. The ebook that I am currently writing is about how to increase your productivity and defeat procrastination. I will be sharing all my productivity tips and the exact system that I use in the ebook. I’m making progress writing the ebook and I aim to launch the ebook by the end of September or earlier. I’m also working on my 4th niche site and I believe this time round the whole site will be done much faster since Clayton is doing all the work of writing the articles and the backlinking process. You should check out Clayton’s site at Journey Of My Own. He is a very nice guy and he writes about his journey into marketing online.

I had just started working in a full time job and I am studying part time for my university (college) degree. I’m a little squeezed for time since i also need to spend time working on my online business. Since I aim to have at least 6 niche sites by the end of 2011, I am in the process of looking for a VA to help me do almost all the heavy lifting for me on my niche sites. Building niche sites can be tedious – especially the backlinking part. The process is monotonous and I won’t have the time to do all the work with my schedule now.

Last month I made around $500 dollars through my online ventures. This amount of income is not enough for me to retire and I won’t be able to stay at some exotic beaches (yet). I am working on increasing the profit of the business and the profit is going to increase as long as I keep on with the process of creating solutions for people and build more niche sites. I only have 3 niche sites now and having a VA can expedite the whole process, which I think is a valuable investment. I’m thinking about what would the result be like if I have 20 of these sites each earning $200 per month? I believe the reward would be rather significant.
