You don’t need to spend countless years to achieve your desired success in life. That is if you know the shortcuts to success. These proven techniques can help you to achieve what you want in a shorter amount of time.
1) Form a Mastermind Group
This popular concept is found in the book written by Napolean Hill, Think and grow rich. Successful people have their own mastermind group to support them and bounce ideas off each other. A Mastermind group can also help to keep you accountable to take the necessary action required to reach your goals.
It is hard to move towards your goal in a lonely fashion. Obstacles are parts of your journey to your success. You need some kind of support around you to help you keep on moving forward even when you don’t feel like it. A Mastermind group that consists of positive people can help you to get up and keep moving again.
To form your own Mastermind group, you need to have a minimum of 2 person or a maximum of 5 to 6 person. I prefer to keep the group small so that the group would be more focus and everyone will get the required attention.
The criteria of the members in the groups are.
If you want to start losing weight and you want to form your own mastermind group, grab a few of your friends who are interested in achieving the same goal. You can try out MeetUp.com or fitness forums to find people around your area to join you in your quest.
2) Mentor
Getting a mentor is something you seriously need to consider. A mentor is someone who had reached where you want to be. They also have to expertise and experience to guide you to your destination in a shorter amount of time.
Let us take losing weight as an example again. The best mentor you can get is someone who already has the body that you desire. They may be the perfect mentor for you if they have the results to show for and also able to get along with you.
I find that being able to get along with your mentor will be a significant factor in the process of choosing a mentor. You don’t want to end up with someone who has the results to show for, but you hate working with him/her due to some personality clash etc.
The Internet makes thing easier for us to find a mentor. There are many bloggers or authors out there in who have done what you want to achieve. All you need is to Google for your selected topic (example: fitness blog) and search for awesome bloggers who have the results that you want. There are many bloggers with different expertise and most probably, you can find one who resonates with you. Their blogs also makes it much easier for you to contact them.
It would be great if they are able to become your mentor for free. If it isn’t possible to get their attention for free, try asking whether they have any premium programs or do they provide a paid one on one coaching. Having a mentor helps to shortcut the process of learning. The time and frustration saved makes getting a mentor totally worth it.
3) Books, Blogs and Podcast
Learning from established experts can help you get the results faster. I started blogging without any knowledge about it, and I do not have any technical skills. The first thing I did was to find blogs that teach others how to blog. There are many blogs out there in the blogosphere. I took some time to look for blogs that can help me to kick-start my blogging journey.
I ended up purchasing a blogging program taught by Yaro Starak at Entrepreneurs-Journey.com. It is one of my best investments.
Podcast is another useful medium that you can download for free from iTunes. I discovered that there are many great podcasts that cover a wide topic. If you haven’t listened to a podcast before, go to iTunes and search for podcasts that you are interested in. Some content over there are pretty awesome, and you can learn lots of things from them.
Lastly, books are a great source of information to teach what you need to know. Cultivate a habit to read frequently. To help me improve my knowledge in my field of expertise, I read around 3 books per month. It helps me to grow and the best thing is it doesn’t even have to cost you a single penny. You can just drop by your local library to borrow some great books to read. You can also save your dead time (time spent on commuting) to listen to podcasts.
These shortcuts can help you to achieve success in a shorter amount of time. However, most people do not make use of the advice given to them and they procrastinate on taking action. Passive learning doesn’t get you anywhere. It doesn’t matter if you read 100 more articles on success if you do not take action to turn dreams into reality.
I challenge you to start action to short cut your journey to success. Whether it is finding your group members or start reading up on what you want to improve on, I challenge you to start today to turn your dreams into reality.
To your success,
Vincent
